REFINED OIL PRODUCTION DATA IN 2010
World production of oil products increased considerably, by 3.1%, during 2010, the highest increase since 2004, driven by the development of transport and the economic recovery.
Oil product production has increased for the first time in 5 years in OECD countries, which still account for 50% of overall production. This increase was chiefly driven by the sharp increase in China (two times higher than in the last five years). Strong growth in the United States (+3%), the world’s largest producer of oil products, also had a significant impact. In the Middle East, production of refined products increased by 4.5% and exceeded pre-crisis levels after a 2.5% drop in 2009.
